What Lie Is YOUR Little Voice Telling You Today?

free-at-lastOne of my all-time favorite and most helpful books is “Little Voice Mastery” by Blair Singer. I attended training with Blair recently and as soon as he spoke his first sentence, I knew he’d been put in that room just for me! What I learned is that the other 460-something people in the room were probably all thinking the same exact thing.

What Blair trained on was the little voice we all have in our heads that tells us we’re not good enough or that we can’t do something we want to do or be the person we’ve always thought we could be or meet the person we’ve always dreamed of meeting. It’s the little voice that stops us (if we let it) from promoting ourselves and our talents because it tells us people won’t like us or will laugh at us or worse.

The fact that we are great at something and people love what we do or who we are doesn’t stop the little voice. As I always teach that self-esteem is an inside job and has nothing to do with how other people view us.

The subtitle of this book is, “How to Win the War Between Your Ears in 30 Seconds or Less – and Have an Extraordinary Life!” I have gotten very clear on several things in my life and have some wonderful changes in the works thanks to Blair’s book. It has given me permission to squish, squash and stomp that lying little voice and get on with what I know I am here to do.

What has YOUR little voice been telling you that has stopped you with disappointment and fear?

Imagine a voice that pumps you up when you have an idea instead of telling you 10 reasons why it won’t work or why you’re incapable of executing it. What would your life be like then?

  1. OMGosh, Great blog post Kelly. Yes my inner voice (men don’t like the word little..haha) the voice of doubt has caused me pain or has protected me from making big mistakes. I often wonder where those voices come from, our head or our heart.

I’m looking forward to reading the book and plan on ordering as soon as I send this message.

    1. Great, Jonathon. So excited you’re ordering the book! You’ll read that the voice that causes you pain is the little voice and the one that keeps you safe is the gut feeling, which is doing it’s job.
